Coherence 5/10

This movie wants to be Primer but it isn't even close. It makes you think it's setting up a complex timeline and everything is going to come together but in the end they throw away most of the plot threads and just do something else.

It Comes At Night - 9/10

Awesome slow burn, post apocalyptic horror. Gave me a similar feeling to The Witch, but this one's more exciting.

47 Meters Down. Out of this, Open Water 3, and The Shallows, I can't believe I'm saying The Shallows is the best movie. They're all terrible but this movie is mostly Mandy Moore whining and panicking underwater like an idiot.

It - First scene is great, then it goes downhill with silly CG and obvious jump scares. The coming of age Goonies stuff was alright though.

The Strangers - Kind of a basic home invasion premise but the horror is tense and well done. This guy should have worked on It. Combined they'd make a really great movie.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Baby Driver. I think I might like it more than Hot Fuzz. It is directed very well, the way it is cut and edited, in sync with the soundtrack. It's very elegant.

Blade Runner 2049, I have to say, I actually rewatched the original before going out to see it, and I think I like the sequel more. Even though 2049 is still really long, like over 2 hours, I felt like it was paced better than the original, didn't feel so dragged out at times. But it had really great themes and visuals.

I agree, 2049 is way more action-packed than the original. Although I have to say, the part where
Spoiler: show
the female replicant got castrated (dunno if I used that word correctly but idk how else to describe it lol)

really disturbed the hell out of me. :noes:

For me it's easily his best movie so far. The first hour or so of it are basically perfect in my eyes.

Regarding Blade Runner. I'm assuming you have to have seen the original first?

Yeah, that soundtrack to Baby Driver as well. So good.

I don't think you need to watch the original to get 2049. the plot is certainly perfectly understandable. But it definitely enhances the experience, because it references the original quite a bit.

Not really, no. There are a lot of callbacks to the original, but you can see 2049 first and not be confused or whatever. I would probably still see the original first though tbh.
